What do a semi-surly bachelor in Colorado and an energetic toddler in Illinois have in common? Me.
My brother (the bachelor) and my daughter (the energetic toddler) have a bond that transcends distance. I’d like to think that has a little something to do with me. I’ve been showing my daughter pictures of my brother for years, and I’ve been sending my brother pictures of Abby since she was born.
Walgreens makes it easy. They have a great feature that I use called “Order for a Friend.”
I just upload my photos online, enter my brother’s contact info and my credit card, and it sends my photos directly to his local store. That way he can pick up great shots when he picks up his prescriptions, shampoo, etc… Best of all, Walgreens lets him know when the photos are ready, so it’s one less thing I have to do. Gotta love that!
No matter what their uncle/niece relationship ends up being like, it’s my job to make sure that Abby knows what her uncle looks like – AND that my brother knows what the little one is up to. It must be working– Abby already adores her uncle and wants to be just like him. Let’s hope she doesn’t pick up all of his habits, like giving my toys to the neighbor kids. Brothers can be so annoying.
