Greetings to all!
As I’m sure you all know, we’ve mentioned before on our Snaps blog all of the amazing perks that come with having a smartphone that doubles as a camera. We’ve even shared the QuickPrints feature on the Walgreens mobile app that lets you print right from your phone to the nearest store. Well, with the iPhone 5 officially out in the world, we wanted to give you an update on smartphone cameras.
So, today, we’re going to do a little side by side comparison between the iPhone 5’s camera and what many people feel is its closest competitor, the Samsung Galaxy S3. Here we go!
iPhone 5
8MP rear-facing camera
1.2MP front-facing camera
f/2.4 aperture
Five-element lens
Hybrid IR filter
4 inch display
Panorama mode
Record video at 1080p @ 30fps
Samsung Galaxy S3
8MP rear-facing camera
1.9MP front-facing camera
Zero shutter lag
Burst mode
4.8 inch display
Panorama mode
Record video at 1080p @ 30fps
Here’s some side by side comparisons using the native camera apps on both phones and regular settings with no flash.
Could you tell which photos came from which phone? The images on the left are from the iPhone 5 and the right is the Galaxy S3.
